Cheesy Grits with Spicy Meatballs
Servings: 4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup Stone Ground Grits
- 4 cups whole milk
- 2 Tbsp butter
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups Marinara sauce (jarred or homemade)
- 2 cups Frozen prepared meatballs
- 1 cup Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- Chopped fresh parsley, optional garnish
Instructions
- In a large sauce pane, prepare grits according to package directions with whole milk, butter, salt and pepper. Test for doneness after 40 minutes, adding cheese to taste or additional water if more cooking time is necessary.
- Meanwhile, thaw meatballs in marinara sauce in separate pan, adding crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
- Plate with a serving of grits topped with sauce and meatballs, garnish with more cheese and fresh chopped parsley.
